I'm a bit jealous

We were able to visit Alice twice today.  The days are beginning to feel a bit like the movie "Groundhog Day".  The days all start out the same with just a few changes to each day.  We get up, check the email, eat breakfast, have devotional time, leave for orphanage.  Come back to the apt, eat lunch, leave for orphanage.  Come back, eat dinner, clean up, read books (I knit), go to bed.

At this afternoon's visit, Alice did the thing that I have been dying for her to do.  She fell asleep while we were walking around...but in Erin's arms!

Yep, she fell asleep on Erin.  Although I love that she did, I have to admit I'm a bit jealous.  I wouldn't take that away from him for anything.  But, I would have liked for it to be me, too.  She fought going to sleep the whole time I was holding her.  I guess Erin is a more soothing walker than I am.

I did make her that hat, though.  I finished it this afternoon before our 2nd visit.  The nannies at the orphanage loved it.  I think.  They kept giving me the thumbs up sign and talking really fast.

We heard from our facilitator, M, that The Vote was postponed yet again.  They don't know when they'll reschedule it.  So, it doesn't appear that it will derail our adoption.  And hopefully more orphans will be found by their families.  We haven't heard this officially from Reece's Rainbow, however.

Court is tomorrow at 2 pm local time.  I'm nervous, but not.  I know that God is in control and He has a plan for us and for Alice.  Court is the last hurdle before she'll legally be ours.  I'll update as soon as I can.

  1. So precious! How long did she sleep in his arms before you had to go? I love the hat you knit for her!! You are such a good Mama! We're praying for court! Don't be surprised by all of the emotions that may come out when they ask you about your children...I was surprised at how much I cried when I didn't plan (or expect to). It's a surreal experience that you'll never forget! The victory that you feel when it's all over is unlike anything I've ever experience...a HUGE relief and that is an understatement! So excited for you guys...nervous energy is keeps you sharp and on your toes ready for whatever questions they may throw at you! Reverence towards the judge is good too because God put that person in authority over you at that moment for a reason. God will give you the words that you should say! We love you guys and can't wait to meet Alice!!!

  2. Praying all goes well for you in court tomorrow. Praying the judge will show you and your daughter grace and that the Lord will bless mightily so you all can be home soon.~ Grace (another RR hopeful mom)

  3. oh my! She is even so beautiful when she is asleep! I do love her hat. What a talented Mommy Alice Faith has! ; ) We are praying for details, court appts, and for you to have plenty of cuddle sleepy times with Alice! Love to you all : )

  4. precious :) NOthing like a baby sleeping on their Daddy. So glad to hear the vote was postponed...we are praying here. We'll be praying for your court tomorrow.

  5. That is so sweet!! When we were in the Ukrarine my husband got our little sweetie to fall asleep in his arms and he talks about it all the time. Hold on to al these memories because tie flies!! It has already been a year for us now!!

  6. So great to talk with you! Y'all have been in our thoughts and prayers. Hope all is going well. Alice is beautiful. Praying for a smooth and successful court date for you!
